October Country Inn

Our beautiful inn, the epitome of "farmhouse charm," features antique quilts, lace curtains, and fresh flowers, and yet, the modern convenience of WiFi is available throughout the inn. Our accommodations include ten guest rooms, and a cozy, yet spacious living room. The living room is country living at its best with comfortable overstuffed furniture, a large fireplace at one end, and an amazing potbellied stove at the other. Relax on our sundeck and sip a cold, local microbrew. Our grounds offer rolling lawns and gardens bordered by hundreds of acres of hardwood forest. A short walk leads to our swimming pool and deck area, a gorgeous spot to soak up the view overlooking the Green Mountains.

Nestled in the heart of the Green Mountains, at the crossroads of Vermont's Route 4, and Route 100 Scenic Byways, October Country Inn is far enough away from the crowds to offer tranquil country lodging, yet still close to the many attractions and activities Vermont has to offer, and Chuck and Edie, certified "Vermont Ambassadors", are well qualified to make suggestions based on your particular interests.

In the summer you can swim in our pool, or local lakes or swimming holes, explore many nearby hiking trails, or rent or bring a bike and enjoy spectacular scenery exploring local country roads. Other summer activities and attractions include antiquing, golf, art galleries, museums, and theatre.

In the winter, enjoy alpine skiing or snowboarding at Killington, Okemo, or other nearby ski resorts. Nordic skiing or snowshoeing is available at one of several local nordic ski centers or take to the backcountry on local trails. Take a snowmobile tour on the V.A.S.T. trail network that runs throughout the expansive Vermont woods. Or, just curl up with one of our many books by the fire. October Country Inn has something for everyone any time of the year.
